Every fall thousands of visitors flock to the Images Studio Tour in Simcoe County where artists showcase their works of art in their own studios. Meet some of the talented artists, and go behind the scenes in their workshop to see how they create their art pieces.

Episodes

Episode 1

Jan Novak creates photographic images, but differentiates himself by presenting them in unique ways. Every year he opens up his home for the tour, and enjoys being around people, showcasing his work, and interacting with people about his art. See how his images take on a life of their own in his studio.

Episode 2

Peter Michalski creates pottery, but always with a twist. Having participated in the Images Studio Tour for several years, he continues to evolve his style and introduce new pieces year after year. Find out what the secret is to making his unique pots and rustic burned wood pieces.

Episode 3

Meet Dave Beckett, who creates stunning oil and pastel paintings of land and sea. Being an artist for 35 years, you can see his beautiful lifelike drawings of his scenic Canadian surroundings and adventures at the Images Studio Tour. Visit his studio and see Dave at work as he creates a breathtaking pastel painting of an Algonquin sunset.

Episode 4

Derek C. Wicks in an acclaimed nature and wildlife artist. The Images Tour has brought him much success and unique opportunities. Sit down with him as he shows you how his paintings come to life from a muddy look into a stunning detailed work of art. Then stretch your feet as Derek and his dog Tuck take an inspirational walk to find new images to paint.

Episode 5

Patti Agapi creates deeply layered and textured abstract and mixed media paintings. Although she is a local, this is her first year participating in the Images Studio Tour. Using various forms of materials, like paper, metal, and upcycled items, she creates unique eye-catching artistic paintings on canvas. Take a peek at her creative process in the studio.

Episode 6

Arnold Veen is a wood turner whose creations highlight the extraordinary features within the wood itself. He does not create his art just for the purpose of selling, but uses it as a way to connect his passion with the public. How does Arnold know what pieces of wood to choose that will create unique pieces?

Episode 7

Marlene Bulas creates happy colourful paintings full of life and the natural joy around us. She enjoys the challenge of trying to make her art look fresh and unique for the Images Studio Tours year after year. Typically known for painting landscapes, villages, and whimsical people, every now and then she creates something different to surprise people.

Episode 8

Jimi McKee is a carver, painter, sculptor, and an imagineer. Ever year at the Images Studio Tour, he tries to reinvent himself and his style with his paintings and art pieces. Bursting with ideas, he often can’t sleep thinking of ways to express his creativity. Focusing on a steam punk theme, he draws in big crowds that are really attracted to his pieces.

Episode 9

Jennifer Houlder’s love of colour, texture, and movement are elements that make her textile art come alive. With her first year on the tour, her goal is to create awareness that textile is an emerging art form. Finding inspiration in unusual spots, she uses tissue box designs to create textile art. See how she brings her art to life.

Episode 10

Often compared to Andy Warhol, Charles Pachter is a well-known contemporary artist that celebrates Canada’s cultural heritage with wit and whimsy. Influenced by life, pop art, and seeing two moose on a road trip, he became inspired to make pop images of things that were indigenous to Canada. One of his first pieces depicting the Queen on a moose turned into an unintentional Canadian scandal, shooting him to fame.
