Host Chris Patheiger will make you laugh as you discover the city's best smoky dishes from the Deep South, the Far East, the Caribbean islands and Iberian peninsula. Hogtown BBQ shows you where the restos are, what makes them cool, and the best time to line up.


Episodes

Episode 1

Danforth and Pape smells like a campfire thanks to one of Greektown’s only southern-styled smokehouses. It’s button-down and welcoming, with a bit of 1970s rec room chic décor. Locals love it and it’s surprisingly vegan-friendly.

Episode 2

Only a true purist gets in arguments to defend buying 15-hundred dollars worth of coarse pepper.  Head chef Adam and business partner Alison run Adamson Barbecue in the Leaside Industrial Park. The lineups are legendary and if you show up late, you might never make it to the door.

Episode 3

There’s a manic energy at Smoque and Bones in Trinity Bellwoods, led by owner and head chef, Alex Rad. Two floors of southern-styled smoked dishes, with a great selection of bourbons, ryes and Scotch. But Alex’s personal story is worth the journey.

Episode 4

Born in Toronto, raised in St. Louis. Uncle Smoke serves St. Louis-styled barbecue under the watch of barbecue master and Missouri-native, Aidan Galligan. This Dundas West resto serves comfort food, made from scratch.

Episode 5

Korea’s barbecue obsession is on full display at Little Piggy’s in the Annex. The food comes out fast, hot and impressive, featuring futuristic on-the-table induction grills, super-friendly service and a superb atmosphere for groups.

Episode 6

A Caribbean smokehouse in Little Italy?  Yep. AF1’s Adrian Forte brings authentic Caribbean cuisine, featuring his own designed smoker and his grandmother’s sweet, spicy and memorable dishes. 

Episode 7

Shhhh! It’s a secret. St. Matthew’s chicken is so singularly tasty that the owner’s parents were afraid their son would get beaten up for the recipe! Family-run authentic Portuguese cuisine with a down-home friendliness on Rogers Road near Weston.
