Go global without leaving Toronto. Join us for an insiders’ look at shopping for and cooking select international dishes - focusing on Toronto’s wealth of specialty food stores. With a culinary expert as our guide, each episode takes viewers through the creation of a single feast, starting in the aisles of a multicultural food store and finishing at the table for a fabulous meal with family and friends. Let our amazing hosts give you a cook’s tour of the neighbourhoods!


Episode 1
Chef John Lee introduces us to PAT Central, top Korean grocer. We explore the aisles in a quest for dinner ingredients, and get a crash course in Korean essentials. Back at John’s place, we whip up a multi-dish special

Episode 2
Our hosts Len (Romanian descent) and Ksenija (Bosnia) go shopping at the legendary East European Starsky’s Fine Foods. Later, in Len’s downtown eatery, traditional Bosnian cabbage rolls are prepared for a hungry crowd.

Episode 3
Italian aficionados Nanci and Tania shop at the fabled Italian supermarket Lady York Foods. After gathering the items needed to prepare homemade pasta and sauce, we head home to create a traditional Sunday family meal.

Episode 4
Chef Luis Valenzuela is hosting a Mexican dinner party. Visit local authentic Mexican grocers that sell the freshest ingredients and seafood you can’t easily find in any other store. Then step into a kitchen and learn how to make delicious ceviche, ensalada de nopales, guacamole con capulines, quesadilla de huitlacoche, and al pastor.

Episode 5
Tawfik Shehata, an Executive Chef at The International Centre, takes you grocery shopping at a Scarborough favourite, Adonis, teaching you how shop for and cook a traditional Egyptian meal. Learn how to make Roz bil Sha’areyyah, Fattoush Salad, and a Molokhia soup.

Episode 6
Chef Abeda Oturkar takes you shopping at the popular Indian grocery store, Panchvati Supermarket. Later step into her kitchen as she teaches you how to make a traditional delicious Indian vegetarian thali with stuffed eggplant, ivy gourd, daal, roti, chutney, and more.
